In the lead-up to American Heart Month in February, the American Heart Association recently announced two new co-chairs for the Philadelphia 2019 Go Red for Women campaign.
Every February, women around the country are encouraged to wear red as part of National Wear Red Day, the official kick-off of American Heart Month.
Chinwe R. Onyekere, who works for Main Line Health near Bala Cynwyd, and Gina Clark, who works for AmerisourceBergen in Chesterbrook, will be heading up the organization's fundraising efforts for 2019.
The pair will focus on Go Red, which aims to educate women about the dangers of heart disease and encourage women to take a more active role in their health and healthcare.
Organizations that rely on fundraising programs for financial support can use Logo Design to promote their efforts and to encourage people to participate.
Both women have years of experience working in the healthcare industry. Clark has more than two decades of experience in strategic communications, government affairs, human resources, and marketing. She is also the president of the AmerisourceBergen Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable organization.
Onyekere is the designated institutional official for graduate medical education at Main Line Health and the associate administrator of Lankenau Medical Center. She has spent her career focusing on healthcare delivery at the local and national level, with a focus on improving health outcomes in underserved communities.
During their time as co-chairs of Go Red for Women, Clark and Onyekere will be responsible for planning the annual luncheon, which typically attracts more than 800 supporters.
