Art lovers in Bala Cynwyd and along the Main Line have something to look forward to at the end of January.
The 45th Annual Fine Art Show and Sale is set to begin on January 26 at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, located in Villanova. The show and sale will run through February 4.
An opening reception is set for the first day, from 6:00 to 9:00pm. Several artists with work in the show are scheduled to attend the reception, which will be catered. Tickets for the reception are $50 in advance, with advance sales going on through this Friday, January 19. After that, tickets will be available at the door for $60.
During the rest of the show, admission is free and open to the public. The art show will be open from noon until 4:00 pm each day.
Organizations that put together art shows and exhibitions can use postcard printing to invite people to the event and to provide them with more information about who will be showing. The Fine Art Show and Sale will display the work of almost 100 artists, working in a range of media. Oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings will be on display, as will glass, ceramic, and metalworks.
This year's art show is co-chaired by Cathy Van Kula and Denick Herrin. The featured artist this year is Rachel Brown, who lives in the area and received a BA in Fine Arts from Penn State.
