Bala Cynwyd invited to learn more about backyard birds

A Bala Cynwyd area activity will give kids and parents alike a chance to discover a wealth of information about the feathered friends that can be found right in their own backyard.

Philadelphia's Logan Library, which is located at 1333 Wagner Avenue, will introduce registrants to the many species of birds that live in urban environments. Intended for families with children from ages six to eight, its scheduled run time is an hour and a half.

The participants in the activity will discover how to identify the different species of birds they see, and they will also find out what they need to survive and raise a family. When it is time to go home, each family will receive a home kit filled with materials so they will be able to keep on making discoveries about their avian friends. Support for the session has been provided by an assortment of community service groups.

Activity sessions give a library a way to encourage its patrons to develop a greater appreciation of the natural world. A printer can supply an assortment of low-cost Promotional Products to include in take home packs that are often distributed during these events.
