While orchids may sound like exotic plants that require expert care, an upcoming workshop will show there are many species that may be suitable for the beginner indoor gardener.
A Bala Cynwyd orchid reporting demo will teach those who have just started growing these tropical and semi-tropical plants. With a registration fee of $10, it will be led by a horticultural expert and Covid prevention measures will be followed so that everyone can participate safely.
During the workshop, the learners will discover how to report epiphytic species of orchid, and the presentation will also include tips for their care and culture. The facilitator will give a hands-on repotting demonstration, and will also discuss why this is important and when it should be done. Tips for choosing which cultivars to grow will be shared, and there is enough room in the activity for up to 12 learners.
One of the perks of registering for the class is that everyone who takes part will go home with a “cheat sheet” that will help them provide their orchids with plenty of care. Stationery printers can provide these materials, as well as Letterheads and other custom documents.
Primex Garden Center in Glenside has made arrangements to offer this learning opportunity on Saturday, January 29. It will start at 11:00 am, and wrap up at 12:00 pm.
