This summer, Bala Cynwyd kids will be able to learn some of the basics of chemistry when they participate in a camp that will strive to make learning fun, and even a little bit messy.
The Sky Soup Art Center believes that education can be really exciting, and its Potions Camp will combine fun with learning. The campers will be mixing a variety of concoctions, and while they work, they will discover some of the fundamentals why different materials act the way they do.
The group will work on a variety of projects, ranging from an erupting “volcano” to slime, food-related potions, and items they can use in the tub or shower. They will also make sun prints, flower potions, and erupting chalk, and all the campers are advised to wear clothing they do not mind getting messy.
The registration fee for each child for the Potions Camp is $288 each, and all the registrants will need to bring a peanut-free lunch and snack. Copies of handouts and other learning materials for this sort of function can be obtained from area Print shops, which can also provide Promotional Products such as T-Shirts for the campers and staff.
