Things are changing in Bala Cynwyd, as three new development projects are set to get underway.
The developer behind the projects, Cross Properties, has even given the development a new name: NoBa, for North Bala Avenue, one of the streets that the projects will be centered around.
Three large apartment buildings are slated to be built in the area near Union Avenue and Bala Avenue. To get the projects underway, Cross Properties ended up buying up around 20 different properties over the course of six months.
Developers sometimes use banner printing to let residents and potential tenants know of the plans that are underway and to encourage people to contact them for more information.
The first apartment building is set to be located at 10 Union Avenue, which was once the site of an office building. That building was demolished around 15 years ago and the lot has been vacant ever since. The new construction will have 109 units and is on track to be finished by the end of 2018.
The second apartment building is on Union Avenue and Cynwyd Road. Cross Properties purchased a large office building and several smaller properties on the lot. The new construction will have 75 apartments and 7,000 square feet of commercial and retail space. The second project is set to be finished by summer of next year.
The final project will have around 80 apartments and another 7,000 square feet of commercial space.
