Chosen 300 Ministries Inc. has organized a Five Mile Walk to raise money to provide meals for the homeless in Philadelphia. This year’s event will be held both virtually and in-person, starting at a park in Ambler.
Chosen 300 has been offering programs and services to fight homelessness in the city of Philadelphia for over 25 years. It provides over 150,000 meals each year to people experiencing food insecurity and homelessness throughout the city.
The ministry receives funding from local churches, companies and personal donations from area residents each year. The annual Five Mile Walk Against Homelessness is another important source of support for the mission’s programs and services.
In addition to distributing meals, Chosen 300 also provides job preparation programs, and will be launching a new personal care building later this year.
Walkers should register in advance on the Eventbrite website, where an electronic copy of the pledge form is available. Printing services may also be used to provide hard Copies for participants to complete. Walkers who raise over $100 will receive an event T-shirt.
The 2021 walk will be held on Saturday, June 12 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Those walking in-person will meet at the Mondauk Common Park, located at 1451 Dillon Road in Ambler, at 8:00 AM. Walkers joining in virtually will be able to log into Zoom at 9:00 AM.
