Volunteering and entertainment go virtual in Ambler

Ambler organizations have several virtual events happening in December.

The Act II Playhouse will stream a performance of comic songs based on traditional holiday numbers. Howie Brown, Anne Wechsler, and Sonny Leo will sing with Tony Braithwaite in this spirited premiere.

Known for acting, singing, and dancing, the three actors are no stranger to the Playhouse. Making Spirits Bright was Brown's last show with Act II, Wechsler played in Biloxi Blues, and Leo had a part in Souvenir, A Fantasia on the Life of Foster Jenkins.

Members of the public can also participate virtually in the Audubon Christmas Bird Count with Wissahickon Trails. This is the 121st bird count, which happens around the United States every year in late November and early December, officials are planning ways the public can help on a virtual level this year. It is free to take part but donations are always appreciated. Participants must RSVP beforehand and can do so online at wissahickontrails.org.

Wissahickon Trails is a nonprofit organization located at 12 Morris Road. All of its funds come from the local community. For more information, contact Kristy or Margaret via the website.

A Very Act II Playhouse Holiday Special will begin showing December 1, and more information is available at Act2.org, while the bird count will take place on December 19 from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Advertising for online events require exceptional graphic design to attract the public's attention from a computer screen.
