What's Happening in Ambler, PA…

The staff and students at Temple University Ambler hope to increase environmental awareness in the area with their annual EarthFest event.

The university is expecting thousands of people to attend its 2018 EarthFest celebration. There will be more than 85 exhibitors taking part to provide a variety of educational information about the environment and help promote healthy lifestyles.

Some exhibitors include the Army Corps of Engineers, the Elmwood Park Zoo, and the Franklin Institute.

This annual event began in 2003 and has continued to grow. The organizers expect approximately 6,500 guests to take part in the festivities this year. Local school groups, community organizations, and the public are all invited to attend.

The school is still accepting applications for exhibitors and volunteers and there is still time to plan a display and conduct some banner printing for the event. Anyone interested can visit Temple’s Support EarthFest webpage for more information.

Visitors can expect to learn about how they can protect endangered wildlife, help their community to become more sustainable, and improve the quality of the water they rely on to survive. The event will take place regardless of the weather and is free to attend.

2018 EarthFest is scheduled for April 20, from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm, in the student parking lot field at 500 Meetinghouse Road in Ambler. Parking volunteers will be on-site to aid with any traffic concerns.
