In early December, Blue Bell-based Dance Studio Phoenix Arts will present its Winter Showcase at Wissahickon High School in Ambler.
The event sees costumed dancers from the studio perform for one hour at the school, which is located at 521 Houston Road.
Phoenix Arts is dedicated to educating the public in the performing arts and encouraging participation, and specializes in fitness and dance. According to the owner, Miss Susie, the arts are essential to education. They teach self-esteem and discipline while encouraging creativity and goal setting.
Classes are available for all ages from one-year-olds up to adults. Students can choose from an array of styles such as ballet, jazz, and hip-hop. Parents of toddlers can choose from tumbling, dance, and music. There are also classes exclusive to boys and those with special needs.
Tickets are $20 and are available through EventBrite. Purchase is required by December 7 as ticket will not be available for sale at the door. Although seating is unlimited, everyone is required to have a ticket except for kids under the age of two, who can sit in the lap of their parents. Refunds are at the discretion of the organizer of the event.
Small educational businesses use promotional Pens that customers can take home with an application. They serve as advertising while providing a useful tool.
The dance begins at 11:00 am on Sunday, December 8.
