The Li'l Gardener's Ornament Painting allows children to have a fun experience, as well as a unique gift they can give to a loved one.
All children between the ages of 3-12 can join this holiday painting workshop. The ornament base is a wood piece that comes from recycled Christmas trees. The children will work with professional local artist Jocelyn Erickson to learn how to create a specific painting on their wooden ‘cookie’.
The class is meant to guide children as they create their ornament, but each participant is welcome to use their own imagination. Step-by-step instructions can help the young artists who want their finished work to look like the display. Once dry, the children can use the supplied ribbon or twine to create a hanger, so they can add their artwork to their tree at home or give it as a gift if desired.
The workshop may appeal to future graphic design artists or little ones that want a one-of-a-kind handmade gift to give grandma for Christmas this year. There is limited seating, tickets should be ordered from the Eventbrite website as soon as possible. Sales end on December 15 or when the workshop is full.
The event is Sunday, December 16 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Rhoads Garden at 570 Dekalb Pike in North Wales. Tickets are $15 for each participant.
