Ambler residents will have a training opportunity in hazardous materials (hazmat) when Compliance Solutions comes to Fort Washington in March.
Compliance is the nation’s largest Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) hazardous materials training company and will offer a course for site employees. Named HAZWOPER, it will consist of 40 course hours and will be available across 10 different cities each week, including this one close to Ambler.
Each workshop is at or above the level of training OSHA requires, and goes beyond the curriculum the organization suggests. Assisted by qualified teachers, students participate in interactive exercises and dress in full personal protective equipment in order to get used to it for field use. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is an example of a way to create Promotional Products while promoting safety. Other than PPE, instructors will cover 17 other topics recommended by OSHA, such as managing safety, health, and medical standards.
Employees whose job responsibilities include storing, cleaning up, and disposing of hazardous materials in both managed and unmanaged situations are required to take a 40-hour course on the matter. These duties include responding to emergencies and Immediate Danger to Life or Health matters. Supervisors for OSHA locations must also take the course.
Registration is $585 before February 28 and $645 after that date. Group discounts are also available. Students must pre-register.
Compliance Solutions will hold classes at 285 Commerce Drive from March 9 to 12, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
