A company located in Ambler has designed an aircraft version of global positioning system (GPS) navigation.
Route Dynamics Corp, or RDC, creates computerized compelling technology for rerouting both general and commercial aircrafts, and has its headquarters is 1776 Ambler Yards. The company recently disclosed the start of its new service, SmartRoutes.
Similar to the GPS system for automobiles, Waze, it is able to reroute flights that are on their way with a quickly, and provide solutions that are easy to carry out. It constantly determines the best available route to save time in the air and reduce costs in fuel and operations.
The power behind SmartRoutes is technology developed by NASA and tested in the field. It monitors weather, air traffic, wind, and other essential information to make flights more efficient. This allows more flights to be on time and fewer materials to be used per flight, making aviation more environmentally friendly by reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
Route Dynamics CEO Rob Kaimowitz expressed excitement in introducing the company's first product as an easily used solution with instant results, minimal risk, and no capital expense. Aviation for business and commercial purposes can take advantage of a lighter workload, more ease of making decisions, better experiences for passengers, and less of a carbon footprint.
