What's Happening in Ambler, PA…

Six graduates of Ambler’s Wissahickon High School from various classes will enter the school's Hall of Fame at a high school ceremony next month.

Classmates, family, and friends are welcome to attend provided they RSVP. Many schools use banner printing to honor alumni or celebrate events like this.

Each alumnus has achieved highly since graduation in both their professional and personal lives. They maintain the Wissahickon mission to stand out both within and outside the community of the institution.

This year’s honorees are:


• Class of 1983 alumnus Thomas Boehning, who is Optum360's CEO with over 25 years of healthcare provider and payer experience. He supports multiple local and national charity.
• Nancy Carter of the 1970 graduating class, who served 37 years in the federal government in the industries of international trade, environmental management, and global health. She is also an Executive Women and State founding member.
• Dominique Earland, who graduated in 2013 and has tenure at the University of Maryland graduate school. She promotes scientific interest to Baltimore students through the CURE Scholars Program.
• Donald Hooton Junior, Class of 1999, who is the Taylor Hooton Foundation president, informing the public about the negative effects of performance drugs such as steroids.
• Class of 2005 alumnus Timothy Johnson, who is the Ambler Sports Academy Baseball Instruction Director. He has played for the Houston Astros, the Camden Riversharks, and the Bridgeport Bluefish.
• Kara Raiguel, who graduated in 1990 and is an influential woman in the insurance industry. She is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway's General Reinsurance Group.

The ceremony is at 5:30 pm on October 18.
