Ambler artist opens AI-enhanced photography show

Photographer and digital artist Dan Marcolina is hosting a show in Ambler this December.

Diffused Reality: New Transmuted Images by Dan Marcolina features more than 30 images that combine AI (artificial intelligence) enhancements, traditional photography, and other digital art techniques. Attendees can interact with the displays by scanning the art with their phones. The theme, Complicated Relationships, is intended to examine the complex and varied connections between individuals and their environment.

Marcolina has been a photographer and designer for more than 45 years and has embraced digital technologies throughout his career. His work has been featured in many publications and art shows over the years and is currently on display at Philadelphia’s Woodmere Art Museum. Marcolina founded the first fully digital design company in Philadelphia in 1989. He has also written a book, iPhone Obsessed, about photography with smartphones. Digital artists often work with Print shops to create Postcards or other small prints of their work.

The show is free to attend and located in the lower level community room of Building 18 at Amber Yards. It will remain at the Ambler gallery through at least the end of the year. It is open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekdays and 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturdays. Private tours are also available upon request. Those interested should call the artist at 215-840-3355.
