Early next month, Foulkeways at Gwynedd Community Center is hosting an informational event on how to support bees and other pollinators locally.
The talk will be called “Protecting Pollinators: 10 things you can do to help.” It is intended to provide information for anyone concerned about declining insect populations. Attendees do not need any previous knowledge about the topic. The seminar will cover basic biological and ecological facts about why pollinating insects are so important for the environment, as well as practical ideas for how people can help with this problem.
Kristy Morley, a senior naturalist who works at Wissahickon Trails and is experienced with running local environmental education programs, will give the presentation. She is a Pennsylvania Master Naturalist, runs Wissahickon Trails’ Community Science Program and regularly leads educational nature walks on the trails in the Wissahickon trail network. Nature organizations often use brochure printing services to display information about what they do at public events.
The event is free to attend, but space is limited, so attendees are asked to sign up by Monday, May 8. Anyone interested, including residents of Ambler and other neighboring towns, is welcome. Participants can RVSP by phone at 215-283-7010 or by email at Janine_Glassmoyer@foulkeways.org.
