Fans of TV’s “Whose Line is it Anyway?” can see the cast members in person for a live performance dubbed “Whose Live Anyway?” coming to Salem in February.
The show stars Greg Proops, Jeff B. Davis, Ryan Stiles, Joel Murray and musical direction by Bob Derkach.
"Whose Live Anyway?" is similar to the TV counterpart in that it is a comedy showcase of short-form improv games. The performers use audience participation to create comedy scenes based on suggestions. Sometimes audience members are even brought onto the stage as part of the show.
The U.S. version of the "Whose Line is it Anyway?" TV show began on ABC in 1998 based on a British TV show of the same name. The show was originally hosted by Drew Carey and ran until the mid-2000s. In 2013, the show was renewed with a new host, Aisha Tyler, and on a new network, The CW. Collectively, the show has aired more than 20 seasons.
In terms of the stage adaption, "Whose Live Anyway?" was originally developed by Ryan Stiles in 1999 in Vancouver, where it was first known as A Night of Improv.
Live comedy shows like these may use poster printing as a low-cost promotional tool or brochure printing to create audience programs.
"Whose Live Anyway?" is coming to the Elsinore Theatre in Salem on February 3. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
