The 2024 Oregon State Fair will be coming to Salem for 11 days in at the end of August.
Competitions will be held in agriculture and horticulture, crafts and hobbies, textiles, visual arts, and culinary and entertaining categories. The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding their annual Gerry Frank Memorial Chocolate Cake Contest on Sunday, September 1st. STEM (Science, Technology Engineering and Math) will hold completions in Building Blocks, and Radio-Controlled Vehicles.
Winners in fair competitions usually have pictures taken. These photos often go to Print shops for duplicates.
Concerts headliners will include Craig Morgan, the Goo Goo Dolls, Steel Pulse, Yung Gravy, Ludacris, Josh Turner, Huntley, Foreigner, and Daya.
The pavilion will offer Hell on Hooves Roughstock Rodeo on Saturday August 24th, Jaripeo Spectacular (bull riding) on Sunday August 25th, Motorsports Spectacular on Saturday, August 31st and Sunday September 1st, and VIP Small Car Demolition Derby on Monday, September 2nd.
Guests will be heading for the carnival midway, which will be open from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm daily. A total of 55 rides will include 10 new ones such as Kamikaze, Arctic Blast Coaster, Ali Baba, Insomniac and Freak Out.
The 2024 Oregon State Fair will take place from August 23rd through September 2 at the State Fairgrounds, 23330 17th St, NE. Gates will open at 10:00 daily and close at 10:00 pm on weekdays and on Sunday August 25th, and 11:00 pm on the other weekend dates.
