Salem hosts SFAM training series

The Stream Function Assessment Method 2.0 (SFAM 2.0) training event, hosted by the Environmental Learning Center, will be held in Salem this September.

This SFAM 2.0 training is designed and conducted by the Oregon Department of State Lands staff. This training aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to effectively use SFAM 2.0 in various regulatory and environmental contexts.

The training will begin with a virtual session on September 17th from 9 am to 12 pm. where foundational concepts, scoring principles, office form completion, and the use of the Oregon Explorer for SFAM reports will be introduced.

The highlight of the training will be a field day on September 19th from 9 am to 4 pm at Bush's Pasture Park. Participants will engage in hands-on practice, guided by experienced trainers. Each field group will comprise of 8-9 individuals.

The training will conclude with a follow-up virtual classroom session on September 25th from 9 am to 12 pm. This session will allow participants to ask questions and clarify any remaining questions from the field day.

Participants will receive 1.4 Continuing Education Units from Clackamas Community College and an Award of Completion. The course fee is $780.
