Salem goes for trot Thanksgiving morning

Salem’s annual 'Run'ucopia' Turkey Trot returns this November.

The event will offer participants the chance to enjoy a morning of running and walking through the city’s scenic parks. Hosted at Salem Riverfront Park, the event will offer a 6k run or walk, 15k, and 10k race. The day will kick off with a free 1k kids’ race for children under six.

With registration fees starting at $25 for the 10k and 6k, and $30 for the 15k, the event promises to deliver not only physical activity but a festive atmosphere complete with music, cowbells, and community spirit.

Race day will include a raffle with prizes, and free hot chocolate provided by Dutch Bros. Awards ceremonies for the 6k will begin at 9:50 am, followed by the 15k and 10k. Age group winners will receive ribbons, and special prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each race.

As part of the event’s charitable efforts, participants are encouraged to give donations to the Outward Church Thanksgiving Meal Program.

Early packet collection is available on November 27th at Gallagher’s Fitness Resources from 2:30 pm to 5:45 pm. For additional details, attendees can visit the event’s listing.

Print shops can be used to provide runner bibs for events such as this one.
