A local artist will be leading a class for painters in late May.
Mommy & Me - Kids Watercolor Class is an activity where participants will be taught about using watercolor paints. Both adults and children are invited to enjoy the event, which is open to artists as young as age six. Experience is not a requirement to take part, as Elisa Mack will provide instructions and encouragement throughout.
Artwork will be done on a paper measuring 8”x10”, and then placed on an 11”x14” display mat before it is taken home. The image will be a bouquet full of flowers.
Adults have a choice to reserve a non-painting spot as well should they choose to just watch the kids they came with. Those who have children from ages six to twelve are required to remain in the painting room. Anyone with older kids can leave the space, but they have to stay somewhere on the venue property. Tickets, which are $25, are able to be found through AllEvents.in.
The venue for the activity is Salem’s Riverfront Carousel. Rides and items from the Gift Gallery aren’t included in the ticket price. Each turn on the carousel costs $2, with bundles of 18 and 50 rides available for $30 and $75, respectively. These, as well as gift cards for the store, are found on the venue’s website.
The lesson will last for about two hours, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. Flyer printing is often used when working to promote classes similar to this one. The experience will take place on May 28.
