A music group with a unique take on tunes is traveling to Salem in early February as part of its current show set.
Postmodern Jukebox is the creation of Scott Bradlee, a pianist who had a goal of bringing together the old and new. The songs released by PMJ take a well-known hit like “Dancing Queen” by Abba, and reimagines the tune in a different style/era (“Dancing Queen” was done in “1920s Hot Jazz.”)
PMJ also serves as a jumpstart for many of the performers featured in its videos and concerts. With a rotating cast, many musicians, singers, and dancers have joined in along the way. The PMJ website describes this element as a “‘Saturday Night Live’ for singers.”
Some of the music PMJ has put their spin on includes “Oops!... I Did It Again,” “Umbrella,” “You Give Love A Bad Name,” “Dream On,” “Don’t Stop Me Now,” “Levitating,” and “Uptown Girl.”
The Salem show of “The ‘10’ Tour” has its tickets being sold on etix. The tickets are priced by section, with the values being $39, $59, $69, and $89. ADA accessible seating comes at one of two prices, $59 or $69. A VIP pass is $164, and it includes perks like a discount at the merch table. Merchandise which has a performance group’s Logo Design is a commonly available item at concert venues on the day of a show. The Elsinore Theatre will open at 7:00pm for the February 8th concert, which starts at 8:00pm.
