Portland judged best overall coffee city

According to WalletHub, Portland’s reputation for good coffee is not misplaced; the financial platform rated the Rose City as the 2025 Best Coffee City.

In time for National Coffee Day, which is tomorrow (September 29), the financial platform published its study of the best coffee cities in the country for 2025. To arrive at the best local coffee scenes, WalletHub used 12 factors to compare the 100 largest U.S. cities. Elements considered included the number of coffee houses, coffee shops and cafes per capita, as well as the average per pack coffee price.

The stiffer the competition, the more important flyer printing services, Promotional Products, and other promotional strategies are to allow groups to stand out from the crowd and achieve success.

In its analysis, WalletHub said:

"Nearly 24% of the population owns an electric coffee grinder, the 11th-highest percentage in the nation, and around 27% of residents own a single-cup or pod-brewing coffee maker. Overall, households in Portland spend an average of roughly $192 per year on coffee, the 20th-most in the country.”

Also mentioned is Portland’s abundance of affordable coffee shops with a 4.5 or higher rating, and having the eighth-most coffee shops offering free Wi-Fi per capita.

The city ranks Number 1 for per capita coffee and tea manufacturers, and Number 1 for per capita affordable coffee shops. Other details from the study included: average price per cappuccino (11th), average per household coffee spending (20th); and per capita coffee shops (33rd).
