A summer bike-riding event is in the works in Portland as a way to explore the city and discover new favorite local businesses to support.
The Pedal Around Portland event, which is being presented by Trek Bicycle Happy Valley, has announced the official date for a fun community bike ride around the city, with friends and family welcome to get in on the fun. The route will take participants to scenic vistas and rest stops stocked with refreshing beverages and snacks.
Organizers have planned for two separate adventure options. Participants can enjoy the family-friendly 10-mile route for a more leisurely experience, or take on the more robust 55-mile adventure around Portland. The 10-mile route is suitable for children of all ages and experience levels. Poster printing is a way for promoters to raise awareness of such events and reach a broad audience.
Stops include Sellwood Park, Coava Coffee, Broughton Beach Park, and Glenn Otto Community Park. Registered participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt to mark their accomplishment, along with a $20 in-store coupon for use at Trek Bicycle Happy Valley. Limited quantities are available on a first come, first served basis.
The Pedal Around Portland ride is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, running from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Riders will meet at 9347 Southeast 82nd Avenue in Portland. Registration is free, and shirts are $33.84 per person.
