Fast-steak chain aiming for major Oregon expansion

The Japanese chain restaurant Pepper Lunch has recently announced it is making a substantial move into the Oregon market, one that will include some Portland locations.

Although Peter T. Ng, a local developer, has not located any specific locations, the chain, which is noted for its sizzling platters containing beef and rice, has plans to open five locations in the Portland and Oregon City area. In his press release Ng stated:
“Oregon is a state that values individuality and quality, and Pepper Lunch offers a dining experience that reflects those priorities.”

Pepper Lunch was established in 1994 and has grown to over 500 locations spread through 17 countries with restaurants in Vancouver, B.C., California, Texas, Nevada and Guam.

New eating establishments require numerous materials that Print shops can provide from signage and Menus to banner printing for their grand openings.

Pepper Lunch is a teppanyaki restaurant. The word teppanyaki is a compound word made up of teppan, a metal plate for cooking and yaki, which means broiled, grilled or pan-fried. The restaurant delivers its beef, rice and veggies on iron plates that are super-heated and cook the food on its way to the table.

According to the company customers at Pepper Lunch can come in, eat and be ready to leave in 20 minutes for less than $20. Beef pepper rice, creamy salmon or shrimp pasta, and chicken teriyaki are among the chain’s signature dishes.
