This is the Pacific Northwest’s only Verizon IndyCar Series race and unlike it more famous “cousin” the Indianapolis 500, the Grand Prix of Portland covers more than a simple oval track. The Portland course has a total of 12 turns spread out over its slightly less than two-mile track, with several breath-taking passing opportunities.
Events held at large venues often rely on banner printing services to help direct crowds to where they should go.
With regard to the 1.967-miles track, Verizon IndyCar Series owner Hulman & Company’s CEO Mark Miles stated:
“Portland International Raceway has produced thrilling road racing throughout Indy car history — the 1997 finish still stands as the record for the closest finish on a road or street course.”
Held over Labor Day weekend, September 2 to 4, the Grand Prix of Portland will include nine races covering five racing series. Saturday will feature the ARCA Menards Series West stock car racing with the main event, featuring the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, taking place on Sunday, September 4.
A visit to the Grand Prix’s website will provide ticket costs and the full line-up of events. Portland International Raceway is located at 1940 N. Victory Blvd.
