The Oregon Zoo is about to become a little bit brighter.
ZooLights, the attraction’s yearly winter festival, will light up the zoo with an enormous LED light display. Three-dimensional zoo animals will be illuminated with lights and there will be many new sights to see. In addition, there will be plenty of places to purchase hot chocolate and other treats.
Guests can also hop aboard the ZooLights train. During the ride, individuals can see animals and go through a rainbow tunnel. Tickets for the train are $4 and $3.50 for members.
For adults, ages 12 to 64, admission to ZooLights costs $10. Seniors cost $9 and children are $7. Kids two and under are free and group discounts are also available. Zoo members can get into the event free. No doubt brochure printers in Portland have been busy creating maps and informational handouts for the park.
The zoo lights up from November 28 until January 4 but is closed on December 10, 24, and 25. ZooLight ticket holders may enter the park at 4:00 pm. However, the lights will not be completely lit until 5:00 pm or 5:30 pm. Each night, the event will go on until 8:00 pm, and until 8:30 pm on Friday and Saturday. After the gates close, the zoo will stay open for another hour before guests must leave.
