Yearly festival celebrates the Rose City

The Portland Rose Festival is taking place on three subsequent weekends, beginning on the last weekend of this month.

The event celebrates Portland's reputation as ‘Rose City’. It is set to feature several activities that will take place in various locations around Portland. Among the many events are three parades.

The Starlight Parade, which takes place on June 4 in Downtown Portland, features illuminated floats. The Junior Parade follows on June 8 in the Hollywood District and the Grand Floral Parade will take place on June 11. Tickets are available for the Grand parade for those who want seating; indoor tickets costs $30 reserved or $15 general and outdoor cost $30 for chairs or $25 for bleacher seating. Of course, the public is welcome to watch the parade free of charge.

There will also be a concert series featuring acts such as Sir Mix-a-Lot and Chevelle, as well as a country music festival. A carnival is set to be held at Tom McCall Waterfront Park, for which admission is $8 for those aged seven and older. Other events include runs, a golf tournament, the milk carton boat race, and the Rose City Sing-off.

To advertise this festival, organizers may distribute Flyers throughout Portland.
