Portlands Cinco de Mayo returns to Waterfront Park

Waterfront Park will once again be the site where the colorful dancers of Ballet Folklorico and mariachi band music will once again celebrate Cinco de Mayo Fiesta in Portland.

Despite its name, which translates into “fifth of May”, Portland’s Cinco de Mayo celebration will be a three-day event taking place May 3-5. During the weekend, attendees will be able to immerse themselves in the food, entertainment, and culture of Mexico.

Most food vendors and others selling items at events such as this one come well supplied with Business Cards and, in some cases, Promotional Products to help attendees find their businesses once the event is over.

Among those performing at the Fiesta will be Ballet Folklorico from here in Oregon and, from Guadalajara, Mexico, Mariachi Ciudad de Guadalajara. Also on hand will be a variety of bands including Banda Los Lagos, Grupo Control, Sonora Tropicana, Banda Arkangel R15.

While enjoying the music, attendees will have over 45 vendors serving authentic Mexican foods, including regional specialties, to choose from. Plus, an assortment of artifacts, artworks, and other handcrafted items from Mexican artisans and crafters, games, and activities for the kids will be on offer.

The 2024 Cinco de Mayo Fiesta in Portland is presented by Treadway Events and the Portland Guadalajara Sister City Association, and will take place from May 3-5, from 11 am – 11 pm at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Tickets are available for purchase online.
