This month, residents who care about the environment can attend an important event, as the Oregon Wilderness Conference comes to Portland.
First, locals can check out a free block party and celebrate natural spaces in Oregon. There will be live entertainment, food trucks, and games.
The next day, they can attend an all-day Wilderness Conference and learn about important conservation issues surrounding wildlife, land, and water in both Oregon and other areas. Keynote speaker Kenneth Brower is just one of many people who will be making their voices heard.
There will also be workshops for participants to attend, with titles such as ‘Public Lands Under Pressure’ and ‘Oregon's (Recovering) Animal Kingdom’.
Registration for the conference costs $60 and includes access to workshops and panel discussions, a mug, food, and a T-shirt. Those who have a pass will be given complimentary beer and wine at the block party. Student discounts are also available. No doubt a poster printing service was used to make Signs to promote the event.
The block party will kick off at 5:00 pm tomorrow, May 15, at the Keen Footwear Headquarters, located on 515 Northwest 13th Avenue.
The conference will take place this Saturday from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm at the University Place Conference Center, located on 310 Southwest Lincoln Street.
