Lee Lambert, the executive director of the Cascade Bicycle Club addressing the much-anticipated resumption of the 206-mile STP, this way:
“We invite bicyclists from across Washington, the Northwest, and nationwide to join us in July for the most special and highly anticipated STP ever.”
The Pacific Northwest’s largest group cycling event, the iconic Settle to Portland ride began in 1979 and draws at least 10,000 participates yearly. Described in a new release from the Cascade Bicycle Club as:
“…a celebration on two wheels that attracts participants from around the region and nation.”

The ride attracts those who wish to test their fitness while simultaneously raising funds for bike advocacy and Cascade’s youth cycling initiatives and programs that serve the group’s membership, estimated at 9,000, as well as bicyclists across the state of Washington. Additionally, other non-profits at each end of the ride as well as along the route are supported through contracts to provide services and food along ride’s length.
The Cascade Bicycle Club’s Seattle to Portland bike ride will be held July 17 and 18.
