DoorDash offers grants to some Portland restaurants

DoorDash recently made an announcement that it will provide grants to restaurants owned by people of color, immigrants, and woman for training that will help “level the playing field”.

According to the press release the delivery app is setting aside $20,000 in grant money for training for these restaurants with an eye to:

“…[helping] stabilize, adapt, and grow greater Portland-area restaurants by providing a $20,000 grant and an 8-week intensive curriculum that features local experts, one-on-one business advising, and the opportunity to connect with other local restaurant owners.”

Logo Design can be a key factor in growing a successful business in a busy city like Portland.

DoorDash’s program, Accelerator for Local Restaurants, has partnered with the Black Business Association of Oregon and the Accion Opportunity Fund to offer customized, one-on-one marketing assistance to Portland metro area restaurants. Eligibility is limited to businesses owned by women, people of color, and immigrants that have 50 or fewer employees, and three or fewer locations. They must have been open for over two years.

In addition to Portland, communities included in the programs are Aloha, Beaverton, Cedar Hills, Forest Grove, Gresham, Happy Valley, Hillsboro, Lake Oswego, Milwaukie, Oregon City, Sherwood, Tualatin, West Linn, and Wilsonville.

Both online and in-person classes, which include topics such as access to capital, managing cash flow, marketing, and menu creation will begin on October 11. Those wishing to participate may apply here.
