A pop-up location has yet to be finalized; however, Mike Rosen, Board Chair of the NWMOCA, is hopeful that a spot in the downtown shopping district of Portland can be secured. Although there is no guarantee that the pop-up will result in a permanent space, the board chair sees it as being instrumental in garnering support for a crowdfunding campaign.
Museums as well as other cultural destinations have multiple uses for printing services, including customized Stationery, Postcards and banner printing services. Such services can often be applied to pop-up events to help form an organization’s brand identity.
As Rosen told the Mercury:
"Portland is the epicenter of the artistic comic community in the United States. We have an embarrassment of riches in terms of collectors, comic book shops, artists, writers, and three major publishers: Oni, Image, and Dark Horse."
The pop-up museum will open in June 2023 and stay up throughout September, during which it will display two exhibitions: History of Pacific Northwest Comics and Multiculturalism in Comic.
