The 2023 Portland Girls in Business Camp is coming up where young ladies can take a crash course in basic business principles and meet individuals like themselves who have been bitten by the entrepreneurial bug.
Among the areas covered include what the different types of businesses are, business marketing, finance and strategy. A more detailed, individualized tutoring will include a step-by-step guide to creating her own business whereby she will develop a business name along with a mission statement and logo.
Each young businesswoman will also have assistance in the creation of a tagline or slogan for her business. She will learn how to create a marketing plan and how to design her own Business Cards. Finally, she will learn how to create a financial plan complete with a budget and then develop a pitch to attract investors. All things with which any entrepreneur needs to be familiar.
Well-designed Business Cards can contribute to a business’s marketing as well as its branding.
The cumulation of all this learning will be the opportunity for each student CEO to pitch the business she has created to a gaggle of fellow students who assume the role of mock investors in a play-acted bid to launch her start-up.
Girl Scouts who take part in the Business Camp can earn for themselves a business plan badge, business owner badge or a recently added new entrepreneur badge.
