Brewers festival to return in June

Although it was previously announced that the Oregon Brewers Festival (OBF) would not be held in 2023, an agreement between the OBF and the Portland Rose Festival will result in the Brewers Festival returning for a three-day stint.

The OBF, a celebration of craft beer with a 35-year history, is to be the featured attraction of CityFair’s second weekend. Held at Governor Tom McCall Waterfront Park, the Beer Festival activities will be covered by attendees’ CityFair admission.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Portland Rose Festival’s, Marilyn Clint, explained that it was not a difficult decision to bring together two waterfront traditions and make the most of Portland’s ‘Beervana’ status.

The Oregon Brewers Festival Mug, 2023 Rose Festival edition, will be available for purchase. On tap, OBF-curated beers will be sold in 12-ounce pours, with both credit cards and cash being accepted as payment. OBF tokens will not be accepted.

Founded in 1988, the Oregon Brewers Festival came about as a way to introduce the public to the city’s craft brewing industry. It credits its success to the thriving craft beer industry in Oregon, with hundreds of microbreweries having established themselves here. Portland’s Oregon Brewers Festival has regularly attracted tens of thousands of out-of-state attendees over the years and been named among the United States’ top beer festivals.

The Oregon Brewers Festival can be enjoyed at CityFair on June 2, 3, and 4.
