The iconic Seattle to Portland (STP) bicycle ride, the Pacific Northwest’s largest cycling event, will take place this year after having been canceled for the last two years due to the COVID pandemic.
The 206-mile ride began in 1979 and since then has grown to attract as many as 10,000 participants per year. As well as appealing to cyclists, the ride is a great economic boost for both Seattle and Portland, as riders may wish to spend time in one or the other city before and after the race. Many businesses will want to confer with printing services to brainstorm the best method of promoting their enterprise ahead of the race.
The ride allows individuals to test their fitness, all the while raising money that will go to fulfill Cascade’s missions of bike advocacy, youth cycling initiatives, and programs that assist its 9,000 members and cycling enthusiasts throughout Washington state.
Additionally, participating riders also support other non-profits with which Cascade has contracted to provide services and refreshments along the STP route.
Presented by Alaska Airlines, the 206-mile Seattle to Portland Bicycle ride will take place this year on July 17 and July 18. Only about 20 percent of the “pack” is able to complete the ride in one day, with most of the rest being able to finish on the second day.
