Randy Wright, Portland’s City Manager filled 3NEWS in on details of the $33 million venue describing it as:
"A top-notch venue for our citizens, for our families to come and enjoy a variety of entertainment both inside and outside, have a nice restaurant, all the types of activities that our citizens have been asking for for years."
When finished 5th & Elm will offer 135,000 square feet of area divided between indoor and outdoor space. Included in that area will be upstairs and downstairs restaurant spaces, a gathering space, such as a ballroom, and an outside stage for concerts.
Large venues often require promotional signage on a large scale, which are most easily attained from local Print shops.
Also on hand will be family-friendly play spaces featuring trees, rolling hills, tunnels, a climbing rope tower and an interactive water feature.
Wright explained that ample parking will be available with spaces for 300 to 400 vehicles in the venue’s immediate area and additional private parking within a two-block area.
Located at the center of Portland’s historic old town area, it is anticipated that the new entertainment venue will prompt revitalization of the local community.
According to Wright, the project should be operational by summer’s end.
