Popular brewery to open shop in Beaverton
Great Notion Brewing and Barrel House (GNB) plans to open a new location in Beaverton in Cedar Mill. GNB is a brewery that was started in Portland and offers beers with bold flavors, culinary-inspired stouts, sours, and fruit-based IPAs.
A lease for a store in a plaza on Northwest Lost Springs Terrace has been signed by founders of the brewery, Paul Reiter, Andy Miller, and James Dugan. The other locations of GNB are on northwest Portland and Alberta.
The storefront is currently undergoing renovations. In the meantime, GNB will be operating a pop-up beer garden tent on Saturday and Sunday. Banner printing can be used in the area to make beer enthusiasts aware of such shops and the opening of a new permanent store.
The space in Beaverton is 2,000 square feet in size and will feature beer for purchase to take out, a more streamlined menu, and 20 taps.
Reiter said that those who works at companies such as Columbia, Intel, and Nike often find is difficult to get to the brewery’s other locations. He and the other founders decided to open up a shop for those in Hillsboro and Beaverton so they could enjoy their many flavorful offerings without having to become a distributor or give up any distribution rights.
GNB plans to open the Beaverton shop in January 2020.
