Old theatre complex in Beaverton to gain new life

Dan and Kat Magner recently purchased the old theater on Southwest Broadway in Beaverton, which is adjacent to the former Beaverton Bakery.

His plans are to move his Miracle Sign Co. into that space and renovate the other buildings in the complex, which could be used for office and restaurant space. At the east end of the complex is Big O’s Wood Fired Pizza, which has the option to expand its current space.

Dan Magner is stripping the entire space down to the studs so that Miracle Sign Co. will become a large open space in the building. He plans to open the shop by the end of April, once the heating-ventilation-air conditioning and the electrical systems are upgraded. Banner printing could be used at such sites to inform the community of the plans for the space and anticipated opening dates.

Mayor Denny Doyle is pleased with the Magners’ plans as they will help to make the downtown area of Beaverton a destination along with expected completion of the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts in 2021. He added that the sign shop will be used mostly for production on the north side of the building but that there will most likely be restaurant space on the south side along with the likely expansion of Big O’s Pizza.
