New superintendent found for Beaverton schools
Gustavo Balderas has been selected as the new superintendent for the Beaverton School District. Balderas is the first non-white superintendent in what is the third largest school district in Oregon.
Such new hires often require calling upon business card printing services.
Tom Colett, chair of the school board, said that Balderas is a superb leader who has led school districts in many states, and has had many accomplishments in those districts. He has closed achievement gaps, improved students support systems, and provided excellent results for students, Colett added.
Balderas said he is looking forward to helping the students of Beaverton overcome the difficulties of the past two years and building on the work done by his predecessor. He said that he and his wife are also looking forward to returning to Beaverton where his sons went to school and participated in sports.
For the past two years, Balderas worked at the Edmonds School District in Washington. He has worked at several school districts in California and five years as the superintendent for the Eugene School District in Oregon. He was recognized in 2020 with the National Superintendent of the Year award from the American Association of School Administrators because of his work improving the cultural proficiency and equity across the state when he formed the Oregon Association of Latino Administrators.
