New shared-use trail opens in Beaverton

The opening of the Crescent Connection Trail was recently celebrated by the city of Beaverton with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Beaverton Transit Center is linked to Beaverton Central and what will become the home of the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts by this shared-use path. There will be classrooms, a theater that will seat 500 people, workshop and rehearsal space, and an art gallery at the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts. The Center will also offer informal gathering areas, an outdoor plaza, and a café, and is expected to open in the spring of 2021.

There is a section in the new trail that is 10 feet wide that will accommodate pedestrians and bicycles and runs from Lombard Avenue to Hall Boulevard. there is also a shared-use roadway for bicycles and pedestrians along other major streets and thoroughfares.

Funding for the trail was provided by a federal aids project and the Oregon Department of Transportation Flexible Funds Program, which provided a grant in March 2012 of $1.2 million for the project. Plans are in place to make this trail part of the connection of the Fanno Creek Trail to the Tualatin Hills Nature Park.

Flyer printing can be used to announce the opening of projects such as this one to inform the community of its many benefits for transportation.
