Lori Baker will be the new chief financial officer for the Northwest Regional Education Service District, a position for which she will most likely need new Business Cards.
Baker, who has over 30 years of experience in public accounting and governmental finance, is currently the business services director and chief financial officer for the Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District. Prior to that position, she served the Portland Public Schools as chief financial officer and TriMet as the director of financial services.
Baker said she finds her work most rewarding when her personal values align with the mission of the organization for which she is working. She said she is looking forward to providing her passion and expertise to the educational programs and school districts in northwest Oregon.
As chief financial officer, Baker will supervise a fiscal team of 20 people who provide payroll, budgeting, accounting, and other fiscal services to school districts in the counties of Tillamook, Clatsop, Columbia, and Washington, of which Beaverton is a part.
Dan Goldman, superintendent of the Northwest Regional Education Service District, said that Baker has a track record of attentiveness and success in local and large government agencies. He expressed his confidence that she will be able to keep and advance the legacy of the fiscal team for its partnership, accuracy, accessibility, and transparency.
Baker will begin her position on Monday, September 20.
