New gallery to open in Beaverton

The First Friday series will open this year with the grand opening of a new fine arts gallery in the heart of Beaverton.

The new venue, Grey Raven Gallery, will be celebrating its grand opening later this month with a reception. The gallery is on West Crescent Street.

Such grand openings often turn to poster printing displayed throughout the region for promotional purposes.

There will be close to 20 artists from the area on hand to discuss their works on display, which will also be available for purchase. Refreshments and wine will be available at the reception. Proceeds from the sales of the art works will go towards Golden Road Arts, which offers lessons at no charge to children in elementary and middle school.

Barbara Mason, an educator and artist, started the initiative in 2020 in Hillsboro as Golden Road Arts. The non-profit has worked to bring art to children in the area with both online classes and in-person events, and is now expanding into central Beaverton.

The grand opening will be held this Friday, April 7 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. The gallery itself is open Wednesday through Saturday from noon to 5:00 pm.

In addition to this First Friday event, there will be an opening reception at the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts, where the Altered Terrain exhibit will be viewable from 6:00 pm.
