New burger restaurant to come to Beaverton

A plan is being revived to build an In-N-Out Burger in Beaverton.

Conditional approval was recently given for the project, which will be on Beaverton Hillsdale Parkway. In-N-Out Burger now needs to satisfy several land use conditions to receive final approval. These include providing detailed plans for storm drainage and erosion control.

This will be the fifth location in Oregon for the chain that has a carefully put together expansion plan. The chain was founded in 1948 in Irvine, California and was the first drive-through hamburger eatery in the state. It has a loyal fanbase with about 400 locations in California and has expanded to Texas, Arizona, and Nevada. It celebrated its 75th anniversary last year.

The chain’s first location in Oregon opened in Medford in 2015, followed by one in Grants Pass in 2017, another in 2019 in Keizer, and then in 2022 in Roseburg.

Mike Abbate, vice president of store development for In-N-Out Burger, said that the chain is currently in the pre-development process with Washington County. He added that once construction begins, a restaurant typically takes eight to months to build and become operational. He expressed his gratitude that the chain has the opportunity to serve customers in Beaverton and the surrounding communities.
