Bike Beaverton will once again be held at City Park later this month.
The purpose of this event is to educate people about road safety for both motorists and bicyclists. There will be a community ride and safety rodeo, and other activities designed for the entire family. Businesses and community organizations will be sponsoring the events and will provide helmet fittings and safety Checks, while also handing out swag. Such an event is also an opportunity for local Print shops to create Flyers and other materials with more information about bike safety and cycling tips.
There will be three bike routes from which people can choose. They range from 2.2 miles to 6.3 miles long and will all start and end at City Park. Each route will have a ride marshal to guide bikers along the marked route. These will be open routes so that cyclists will need to share the roads with cars. Bikers need to bring helmets, water bottles, and a small backpack for carrying personal items.
The Beaverton Police Department Bike Team and Bike Community Fair will be hosting the bike rodeo from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, while the open bike routes will be from 2:00 through 3:00 pm.
Bike Beaverton will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 21 at City Park at the intersection of Hall Boulevard and SW 5th Street.
