In-person market to return to Beaverton
The Beaverton Night Market will be returning to the city later this month.
The Market will take place over two days in in the downtown area, near Tucker Avenue and Southwest First Street. The move to the downtown was needed as there is ongoing construction at its previous location at The Round. In addition, there was a desire on the part of the community to hold it in the streets like most other night markets around the world.
The Market will feature over 20 performers from many cultures around the world, as well as 40 vendors. There will be two areas for food courts which will be visible in the stage areas so attendees can have a bite to eat while enjoying the performances. The Market will be family-friendly. Banner printing is often used around a city to promote such special events as this one.
A member of the event’s planning committee and of the Diversity Advisory Board in Beaverton, Rehana Malik, said that this traditional night market will have a new perspective in that there will be new collaborations, a fresh setup, and a diversity of vendors. Malik said that the committee is excited to be able to bring back an in-person market.
The dates and times for the Beaverton Night Market are Friday, August 13 and Saturday, August 14 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m.
