Climbing gym to come to Beaverton
Portland Rock Gym will be opening a new location in Beaverton. It will replace what was once Orchard Supply Hardware.
The gym will span 64,000 square feet when completed. The facility will have spaces for yoga, climbing, and other activities. The director of route setting for the rock gym, Nickolas Gagliardi, said that it will be the second largest in the country and will be either third or second in terms of the surface for climbing.
Brochure printing is often used to provide more details about the features and offerings of such new facilities.
Construction of the facility will be carried out in two phases. The first phase will cover 28,000 square feet and will have free climbing without ropes or harnesses and multiple walls for bouldering. There will be 12-foot walls alongside the 14-foot walls and will be designed for beginners. The Recreation and Development team of the gym will also use the smaller walls and will be close to a conference room for parties and other events.
The second phase will make room for a 55-foot wall for rope climbing. This phase will also include showers, locker rooms, a speed wall certified by the International Federation of Sport Climbing, and more space for bouldering.
Set in Peterkort Towne Square, the first phase is expected to be completed this month while the second phase is scheduled for completion by spring of next year.
