Beaverton to host three races

The Beaverton 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon will be taking place later this month, with the Half Marathon being an ideal event for both racing and fitness.

Flyer printing is often used to promote such special events throughout a city.

The three races will start and end in Beaverton at the intersection of SW Nimbus Avenue and SW Gemini Drive. The first 1.2 miles will be shared by all races. After that, the 10K and Half Marathon turn north while the 5K turns south. The toughest hill has been eliminated from the race. The Half Marathon and 10K share the same route for 6.2 miles, at which time the 10K finishes and those in the Half Marathon take on a second loop.

Walkers are also welcome to participate in the races. The racecourse will be open for four hours. Those who anticipate that their walk will take longer than that can select the early start time of 7:00 am.

There will be three ribbons awarded in each age group from 14 years of age and younger through 80 years of age and older. All winners will be announced at the finish line party after the races.

Those participating in any of the races can pick up their packets at the Portland Running Company next Friday, September 13 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The races will begin at 8:00 am on Saturday, September 14.
