The Rotary Club of Beaverton will be holding a Sun Run, which is a 5K walk and run, next month for the 10th year.
This event is in partnership with the Beaverton Parade. The route of the walk and run is certified by the USA Track and Field. It will start and end on SW Berthold Avenue between SW Erickson Avenue and Menlo Drive at the Evelyn M. Schiffler Memorial Park, pass Beaverton High School and the Beaverton Library along SW 5th Street, and go to SW Maple Avenue and then return.
The price to register for the race is $35 prior to Friday September 6 at 6:00 p.m. and $45 thereafter. Proceeds of the race will go towards the works of the Rotary Club of Beaverton which include scholarships, shoes, and warm clothes, and Books for children, among other local and national projects.
Poster printing is often used to promote such events and their charitable efforts.
The walk and run will be before the parade starting at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday September 7. Participants can pick up their bib beginning at 7:30 a.m.
The parade will start at 10:00 a.m. and its route will overlap with that of the Sun Run. Viewers of the Sun Run are encouraged to stay and watch the parade and visit the Saturday Beaverton Farmer's Market.
