Beaverton standards non-profit adds new member
Vivint Smart Home, Inc., a company which specializes in smart homes, is now a member of the Z-Wave Alliance, a standards organization that develops and promotes the wireless smart home protocol known as Z-Wave, located in Beaverton. Vivant has been using the Z-Wave protocol in its products for many years and will become a Principal member, which includes being on the Board of Directors of the organization.
Among Vivant’s products is an integrated home security system which has several devices certified by Z-Wave and are used for lighting, access control, and lighting, among others. The company may now consider adding the Z-Wave logo to its logo design, letterheads, and business cards.
Chief product officer at Vivint Smart Home, Jim Nye, said that his company has been advocating the use of Z-Wave technology for many years and understands its benefits for ensuring that the customer experience is seamless. He added that his company is looking forward to 2021 and to partnering with Z-Wave, supporting its growth in the home market and elsewhere.
Executive director of the Z-Wave Alliance and director of strategic partnerships for IoT, Mitch Klein, expressed his delight with Vivant’s commitment to the Z-Wave technology and highlighting it as part of his organization. He added that with Vivant’s background in smart homes and their support of the technology the company will add value to the organization.
